Individual Couples
A confidential space to understand what's happening and find a way forward
Sometimes life becomes difficult without there being one obvious reason why.
You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck. Perhaps something has happened that you can't seem to move past, or you are struggling with relationships, work, confidence or a major change in your life.
Sometimes you simply know that things don't feel right anymore, but you're not sure why.
You don't need to have all the answers before you come to counselling.
I'm Jane Harper, a BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor, offering individual counselling from Halesowen, West Midlands, as well as online.
My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, make sense of what you're experiencing and begin to explore what might help.
What can counselling help with?
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:
Anxiety and excessive worry
Stress and feeling overwhelmed
Low self-esteem and confidence
Relationship difficulties
Bereavement and loss
Major life changes
Work-related stress
Burnout and emotional exhaustion
Difficult decisions
Feeling stuck or unhappy
Family difficulties
Self-esteem and identity
Coping with change
You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from counselling.
Sometimes you simply need somewhere safe to stop, think and talk.
My approach
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches rather than believing that one approach suits everyone.
Every person is different, so our work together will be shaped around you, your circumstances and what you want to achieve.
I aim to provide a warm, thoughtful and supportive environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgement.
I also believe that counselling should be practical as well as reflective. Understanding why you feel the way you do can be important, but so is finding ways of moving forward.
You don't have to know exactly what you need
Many people worry that they won't know what to say in their first session.
That's completely normal.
You don't need to prepare a list of problems or know exactly what you want from counselling. We can start wherever feels right for you and work things out together.
